Hi my name is Borah. Welcome to my blog. I am a Master Aesthetician in Utah. I practice in my in home spa and teach full-time. I love what I do! I wanted to be able to share with you all about skincare and wellness. I strive to be the best at all that I do and take advantage of every opportunity to further my education. This year I will be studying to obtain my NCEA certification.
I started my journey at Oliver Thein in Burnsville, MN. In January of 2000 I enrolled in their cosmetology program. I loved learning about skincare and facials were one of my favorite treatments. But at that point in time I did not know about any esthetics programs nor did anyone I talked to so on Halloween of 2000 I graduated from school and I went to work at ACO Salon in Mahtomedi. Amy was my boss and mentor. She taught me so much and gave me a passion for the industry that I lacked while in school. She helped me to perfect my cuts and colors. She taught me about owning and running a salon. While I was working there I started classes at the local community college taking classes in the morning since the salon didn't open till noon. Eventually I transferred to the U of MN where I majored in Economics and Finance.
In 2007 I moved to Utah and transferred my license. It was time for me to start my own business. Letitia's Studio started off the adventure of working for myself. One day a friend recommended I meet one of her friends who did nails, thinking we would be able to help each other. At our first meeting she told me about the Master Esthetics program in Utah. I was intrigued. The more I thought about it I remembered how much I loved facials and skin care during school and how it was easier for me to sell and get excited about the skincare line at ACO. The more I thought about how that just might be the path for me. I started researching schools and programs.
In March of 2011 I enrolled in a school and started the next leg of this wonderful adventure. I intended to go in to to medical side of esthetics, working at a dermatologist or plastic surgeons office. After 4 months of a lot of studying and testing, I obtained my Master Esthetic license and realized I had so much to offer as an instructor, helping others learn and discovering their passion. I decided to stay and do a teaching internship. More testing and I became a Master Esthetics Instructor.
The adventure continued. After a few bumps in the road and some detours. I found my home at an amazing school in Utah teaching. I love the owners, I love the students, and I love the instructors I have the pleasure of working with. I have learned and grown so much this past year. Eventually I started my own in home/ mobile spa. I feel like I have the best of both worlds, working with amazing women and taking ownership of my own destiny.
I am grateful for all those who have helped me along the way, who have passed on some of their wisdom, and helped me develop into the woman I have become. I am excited to see where the adventure takes me in the future and who I will meet along the way.
Have a beautiful day!!!
